Quick Hits: Shoppach, Infante, Kapler, Mauer, Montero

Quick Hits: 
  • The Indians and Kelly Shoppach have agreed to a one year deal worth 1.95 million dollars. Shoppach hit .261 with 21 HR, but had a .348 OBP, and lead all catchers in slugging (minimum 250 at-bats).
  • The Braves and Omar Infante have agreed to a two year deal with a club option for 2011, buying out a year of free agency. Infante hit .293 with 3 HR in 317 at-bats. He is very valuable in the field as well, playing four different positions. 
  • The Rays and Gabe Kapler have agreed to a one year deal worth 1 million dollars. Kapler hit .301 with 8 HR in 229 at-bats for the Brewers last season.
  • Twins catcher Joe Mauer has turned down an invitation for the World Baseball Classic.
  • The Red Sox and the Diamondbacks have intensified talks concerning Miguel Montero. The Diamondbacks are reportedly eyeing Michael Bowden or Daniel Bard.
