According to the Hot Stove Blog, the Rangers and Giants will speak at the Winter Meetings this week about Hank Blalock. The Rangers are in need of a pitcher and the Giants need an offensive hitter, making these two very possible trade partners. Blalock hit .287 with 12 HR in 65 games for the Rangers, but has only played in 123 games for the Rangers over the past two seasons. T.R. Sullivan suggests Jonathan Sanchez as the returning piece in the deal, but that is pretty high price for an injury-prone player with one year left on his contract.
The Giants could send Jack Taschner and a pitching prospect for Blalock,
