According to the San Francisco Chronicle, GM Brian Sabean told season ticket holders last week that he is still in talks with free agent pitcher Randy Johnson about a one year contract. Johnson still wants to pitch next season being just five wins from 300, and at least seven teams are in on him. The Cubs, A's, Brewers, Rangers, Astros, and Giants are all talking with the Johnson, but agent Barry Meister said he prefers to pitch on the West Coast.
Not only will Johnson draw fans to the stadium, but he will mentor some of their young pitchers, which could have a huge impact on the Giants future.
