According to a rival executive, the Dodgers may pursue free agent pitcher Oliver Perez. Perez went 10-7 with a 4.22 ERA in 34 games for the Mets last season, but won 15 games in 2007. Perez is reportedly very far apart in negotiations with the Mets, and may talk with the Brewers, Dodgers, and Reds about a deal. Perez may be interested in returning to the NL Central so he could face off against his former team, the Pirates.
